Step 1: Gather the Necessary Tools

Before you begin installing your Levolor blinds, ensure you have the following tools handy: a tape measure, a pencil, a drill with the appropriate bits, screwdriver, level, and step ladder.

Step 2: Measure Your Window

Measure the width and height of the window where you’ll be installing the blinds. When ordering your Levolor blinds, be sure to provide accurate measurements to ensure the right fit.

Step 3: Determine Inside or Outside Mounting

Decide if you want to mount the blinds inside or outside the window casing. Inside mounts give a cleaner look, while outside mounts can provide increased privacy and light blockage.

Step 4: Mark Bracket Locations

For inside mount, place the brackets at each upper corner of the window casing and mark their locations with a pencil. For outside mount, position them above and outside the window frame on either side. Use a level to make sure your marks are even.

Step 5: Drill Pilot Holes

Use a drill with the correct bit size to create pilot holes at the marked bracket locations. Make sure not to drill through the entire window frame if you’re doing an inside mount.

Step 6: Attach Brackets

Using your screwdriver, attach each bracket to the window with the provided screws. Double-check that all brackets are secure and level before proceeding.

Step 7: Install Headrail

Slide your Levolor headrail into the brackets until it clicks into place. If necessary, use a rubber mallet to gently tap it in; avoid metal hammers as they may damage your blinds.

Step 8: Hang Slats (If Applicable)

For horizontal blinds (such as Venetian or faux wood), start with attaching valance clips by sliding them onto the headrail. Next, attach slats by hooking them onto each carrier. For vertical blinds, attach the vanes to each clip on the headrail.

Step 9: Test Your Blinds

Test your new Levolor blinds by raising and lowering them to make sure they work correctly. If everything functions as expected, your installation is complete. If not, check all your connections and/or contact customer support for assistance.

With these nine steps, you’ll have successfully installed your new Levolor blinds, adding style and functionality to your windows. Enjoy the improved light control and privacy in your home!
