Outlook is a widely used email platform that allows users to attach files to their emails. However, it has a default limitation on the size of attachments that can be sent. The attachment size limit of Outlook often causes inconvenience to users who need to send large or multiple files. In this article, we will discuss some ways to increase the Outlook attachment size limit.

1. Use an online file sharing service

One way to increase the Outlook attachment size limit is to use an online file-sharing service. With services such as Dropbox or Google Drive, you can upload your files to the cloud and include a link to the file in your email. This can be especially helpful if you need to send many large files.

2. Compress the file

Another way to increase the attachment size limit in Outlook is to compress the file. Compressing a file involves making it smaller by removing some of its data. To compress a file, you can use software such as WinZip or 7-Zip. Once the file is compressed, it can be attached to your email and sent through Outlook.

3. Use a file transfer service

You can use file transfer services such as WeTransfer or Send Anywhere, to send a large or multiple files up to 2GB, within the required recipients. To do so, upload the files to the file transfer service, and add the email address of the recipient(s). They’ll then receive a link to download the file(s) without having to use Outlook.

4. Change the registry key settings

If you don’t want to rely on third-party file-sharing services, you can change the registry key settings of Outlook to increase the attachment size limit. Changing these settings requires you to have administrative access to your computer, and you need to keep in mind that an incorrect change can have serious consequences. If you’re not comfortable with changing registry key settings, get help from a technician.

5. Use a file-sharing service plugin

Outlook also supports various plugins that you can download and install to increase the attachment size limit. These plugins integrate with Outlook and allow you to use them to send and receive large attachments. However, make sure you download the plugins from a trusted source.

In conclusion, increasing the Outlook attachment size limit can be done in several ways. Consider what works best for you and what you’re most comfortable with, as each method has its own benefits and limitations. A critical thing to remember is that sending large files must be consistent with the recipients’ capabilities and limitations.
