How to Improve Your ASUS ROG Ally’s Battery Life

As the gaming industry continues to evolve, portable gaming devices like the ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) Ally have become increasingly popular among enthusiasts. However, despite its powerful performance capabilities, users often face the challenge of battery life optimization. Here are several strategies to improve your ASUS ROG Ally’s battery life, ensuring that you can continue to game on the go without constant recharging.

1.Adjust Your Display Settings

The display is one of the most power-hungry components of your gaming laptop. By reducing the screen brightness, you will significantly save on battery power. Additionally, consider lowering the refresh rate if your laptop allows it and using darker themes and backgrounds, as they consume less energy.

2.Manage Your Power Plan

Windows offers various power plans that adjust how much energy your laptop uses. For better battery life, select the “Power Saver” plan or customize a plan best suited for gaming while conserving as much battery as possible.

3.Limit Background Applications

Running multiple applications in the background can drain your battery quickly. Use Task Manager to close any unnecessary programs and prevent them from booting upon startup.

4.Keep It Cool

Excessive heat can cause your laptop to work harder, which in turn reduces its battery life. Make sure to use your device on a hard, flat surface and consider purchasing a cooling pad to help regulate temperature.

5.Update Software

Regularly check for and install software updates for your operating system and games. These updates often contain optimizations that can help improve overall efficiency and thus battery life.

6.Enable Battery Saving Mode in Games

Some games have built-in settings particularly designed for laptops that tweak graphics and processing power to reduce energy consumption without drastically affecting gameplay.

7.Disconnect Peripherals

When not in use, disconnect any peripherals such as external mice or USB drives which draw power from your laptop’s battery even when you’re not actively using them.

8.Reduce Maximum Processor State

You can reduce the maximum processor state through ‘Power Options’ in Windows control panel. Lowering this setting can save energy at the cost of some performance.

By incorporating these changes into your usage habits, you will be able to extend the playtime of your ASUS ROG Ally significantly between charges. Remember that regular maintenance of your laptop’s hardware and battery is also essential for long-term performance and health.
