How to Hide Amazon Orders: 6 Steps

Introduction:

Online shopping has become a routine for many of us, and Amazon is the go-to platform for a majority of online shoppers. But sometimes, we might need to hide our orders to maintain privacy or to surprise a loved one with a gift. Here are six simple steps to do just that.

Step 1: Switch to an Amazon Household Account

To keep your orders discrete, you can switch from an individual account to an Amazon Household account. This allows you to share Prime benefits with another person while keeping your purchase history separate.

Step 2: Switch Accounts When Placing an Order

When shopping on Amazon, simply switch from the shared household account to your personal account for placing the order. Follow these steps:

– Go to ‘Change Account Settings’ in ‘Your Account.’

– Select ‘Switch Accounts.’

– Choose your personal account, then place the order.

Step 3: Archive Your Orders

If you’ve already placed an order that you want to hide, you can archive it. Archiving moves the order from the visible list of previous orders into a separate section called ‘Archived Orders.’ Follow these steps:

– Go to ‘Your Orders’ under ‘Your Account.’

– Find the specific order you’d like to hide.

– Click on ‘Order Details,’ then select ‘Archive Order.’

Remember, archive limit is 500 orders.

Step 4: Delete Your Browser History

If someone has access to your computer or device where you shop on Amazon, they might be able to see your browser history and uncover your hidden orders. To avoid this, delete your browsing history regularly, or use the private browsing or incognito mode when shopping.

Step 5: Manage Your Email Notifications

Make sure that email notifications about purchases or delivery updates are set only to be sent to your personal email address. This way, no one else in the household can see details about your orders. You can do it by:

– Going to ‘Your Account.’

– Click on ‘Notification Preferences.’

– Update your email address and notification preferences.

Step 6: Delivery Options

Choose a delivery option that maintains secrecy regarding the order. Opt for an Amazon Locker or have the package delivered to an alternate address like your workplace, a trusted friend’s house, or a local FedEx/UPS location.

Conclusion:

While absolute privacy is hard to achieve when shopping online, following these six measures will help you hide your Amazon orders effectively. Give it a try the next time you want to keep a purchase secret or have a surprise gift lined up for someone.
