1. Define your niche: Identifying your niche will help you understand your target audience and create high-quality, relevant content that stands out to potential sponsors.

2. Create an appealing bio: Your Instagram bio is your personal billboard. Make it professional, eye-catching, and informative about your brand or account.

3. Maintain a consistent aesthetic: Choose a consistent color scheme and photo editing style for your posts, creating a cohesive feed for potential sponsors to explore.

4. Post high-quality content: High-resolution photos and well-crafted captions will demonstrate your professionalism as an influencer and set you apart from other accounts.

5. Engage with your followers: Respond to comments and messages, ask questions in your captions, and follow similar accounts to build genuine relationships with potential followers.

6. Prioritize post frequency and timing: Post regularly, at least 3-4 times per week, and during peak engagement hours to maximize visibility.

7. Use relevant hashtags: Include topic-specific, trending, or branded hashtags in your posts to reach new potential followers.

8. Collaborate with other influencers: Partnering on shared content or hosting giveaways with similar accounts can help expand visibility within each other’s audience.

9. Go live on Instagram Stories or IGTV: Deepen connections with followers by hosting Q&A sessions, behind-the-scenes footage, or topical discussions via Instagram’s native video platforms.

10. Leverage analytics tools: Utilize Instagram Insights or third-party applications such as Iconosquare or Sprout Scial for data that informs future content strategies and posting schedules.

11. Promote sponsored posts effectively: Clearly disclose sponsorship relationships using the “Paid Partnership” tag, while demonstrating appreciation for the product or service provided by the sponsors.

12. Build a media kit or portfolio: Collate analytics data, example work, testimonials from previous collaborations, and important personal information into a professional-looking, easy-to-share document.

13. Perform outreach to potential sponsors: Identify brands or companies in your niche and send personalized messages through direct messages, emails, or LinkedIn profiles.

14. Set clear boundaries and deliverables prior to a partnership agreement: Establish expectations for content format, frequency, timelines, and compensation rates before solidifying any collaborations.

15. Deliver value and measurable results: Produce high-quality sponsored content that aligns with your overall feed aesthetic while resonating with your followers on a personal level–increasing likelihood of future sponsorship opportunities.

By following these 15 steps, you can effectively grow your Instagram influence and increase potential sponsorship opportunities for long-term success as an influencer.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
