YouTube is one of the biggest online video sharing platforms that is used by millions of people around the world. It has content ranging from music, movies, documentaries, tutorials, etc. However, all of these interesting features on YouTube come at a cost if you choose to go premium. Fortunately, if you’re a student, you can get a significant discount. This article will guide you on how to get a YouTube Premium student discount.

Firstly, what is YouTube Premium?

YouTube Premium is an online streaming service that offers unlimited access to movies, YouTube originals, ad-free music, and videos on the YouTube platform. It also allows you to download videos and watch them offline. All of these features come at a price, but as a student, you can get a significant discount by signing up for a student account.

Step One: Sign Up for a Student Account

If you’re not yet registered with YouTube, you need to create an account first. To do this, go to the YouTube website and click on the ‘Sign In’ button at the top right corner of the page. Enter your email address and password or sign up using your Google Account.

Next, click on ‘Get YouTube Premium’ at the bottom of the screen. This will take you to a page where you can choose your payment plan.

Step Two: Choose Your Payment Plan

In this step, choose the payment plan that works best for you. YouTube offers two payment plans for students. The first is the Student Plan, which costs only $6.99 a month. It offers all the features of the YouTube Premium, such as ad-free videos, background play, offline download, and YouTube Music.

The second option is the Student Plan with Spotify Premium, which costs $9.99 a month. This plan offers all the features of the Student Plan plus access to Spotify Premium. This means you get unlimited skips, ad-free listening, and high-quality streaming.

Step Three: Verify Your Student Status

After selecting your payment plan, the next step is to verify your student status. To do this, click on ‘Verify Now’ on the payment page. This will take you to a third party website, where you need to provide proof of your student status. Typically, a university email address or a document that proves your enrollment in a recognized institution will suffice.

Step Four: Start Enjoying Your YouTube Premium Subscription

After successfully verifying your student status, you can start enjoying all the features of YouTube Premium. You’ll have ad-free videos, unlimited access to YouTube Originals, download videos and watch offline, play videos in the background while using other apps, and so much more.

In conclusion, getting a YouTube Premium student discount is relatively easy. Follow the steps outlined above, and you’ll be able to enjoy all of the features of the paid subscription but at a reduced cost. So, if you’re a student and spend a lot of time on YouTube, sign up for a student account today and start enjoying premium features.
