How to Fix the VIDEO DXGKRNL FATAL ERROR in Windows 10

If you are a Windows 10 user, you may have come across the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error. This error can be particularly annoying as it can cause your system to crash and even lead to data loss. However, there are solutions to this problem. In this article, we will explore ways on how to fix the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error in Windows 10.

1. Update drivers: The most common reason behind the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error is outdated or incompatible graphics card drivers. You can visit your graphics card manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest drivers. Alternatively, you can use driver update software such as Driver Booster to automatically update all your drivers.

2. Disable Overclocking: Overclocking can strain your system and cause instability leading to the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error. To disable overclocking, you should enter your BIOS/UEFI settings and revert to the default settings.

3. Check for Malware: Malware can also cause the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error. You can use Windows Defender or any other reputable antivirus software to scan and remove any malware that might be affecting your system.

4. Check for Faulty Hardware: Faulty hardware such as RAM can also cause the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error. You can use Windows Memory Diagnostic tool to check for any issues with your RAM.

5. Disable problematic services: Some services such as Hypervisor and Hyper V can cause the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error. To disable these services, you should type in “msconfig” in the search bar and click on System Configuration. Next, click on the Services tab, uncheck the problematic services and restart your computer.

6. Run a System File Check: System file errors can also lead to the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error. To check for system file errors, you should press Windows key + X, select Command Prompt (Admin) and type “sfc /scannow”. This will scan and repair any system file errors.

7. Clean Install Windows 10: If none of the above solutions work, you should consider doing a clean install of Windows 10. This will help you get rid of any underlying issues that may be causing the Video DXGKRNL Fatal Error.
