If you’re an Xbox user, you may have encountered the error message “the person who bought this needs to sign in” and wondered how to fix it. This error can be frustrating, as it prevents you from accessing content that you’ve purchased. Don’t worry – there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue and get back to gaming.

Step 1: Check Your Account Information

The first thing you should do when you receive the “the person who bought this needs to sign in” error is to double-check your account information. Make sure you’re signed in with the account that purchased the content. If you’re signed in with the correct account and still receiving the error message, try logging out and logging back in again. Sometimes, a simple account refresh can fix the issue.

Step 2: Reset Your Xbox

If the account information check doesn’t work, another solution is to reset your Xbox. Oftentimes, system glitches can cause the error message to appear. Try shutting down your console completely and unplugging it from the power source. Wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and start it up. This should reset any system errors and clear the error message.

Step 3: Clear Your Xbox Cache

If the previous steps don’t work, it’s possible that your Xbox’s cache is causing the issue. The cache is a temporary storage area that holds data for faster access. Sometimes, this data can become corrupted and cause errors. To clear the cache, follow these steps:

1. Press and hold the power button on the front of your Xbox until it turns off.

2. Unplug the power cable from the back of your Xbox.

3. Wait for 10 seconds, then plug the power cable back in.

4. Press the power button on the front of your Xbox to turn it on.

Step 4: Contact Xbox Support

If none of these steps work, it may be time to contact Xbox Support for further assistance. They can help determine if there are any issues with your account or console, and offer additional solutions to get you back to gaming. You can contact Xbox Support through their website or through the Xbox console itself.
