The Surface Pro has become a popular device due to its portability and great features. However, like any other electronic device, it can also have technical issues. One of the most common problems that users face is a malfunctioning camera. If this is your case, don’t worry. This article will provide you with steps to troubleshoot and fix your Surface Pro camera.

1. Restart your Surface Pro

The first step to fixing a malfunctioning camera on your Surface Pro is restarting your device. Sometimes, restarting the Surface Pro can help to fix the issue. To restart, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, and then release it. Wait for a few seconds and turn it back on.

2. Check if the camera is enabled

Sometimes, the camera on your Surface Pro may become disabled, causing it not to work. To enable the camera, go to “Settings” on your Surface Pro, select “Privacy,” and then “Camera.” Make sure the “Allow apps to access your camera” option is turned on. If not, toggle the switch.

3. Close all running apps

Having multiple apps running can cause the camera to malfunction. Close all apps and try to use the camera again. If the issue persists, try closing all other apps except for the one you are trying to use the camera with.

4. Check for updates

Outdated drivers or software can cause the camera to malfunction. Check for updates in the “Settings” menu and update your Surface Pro to the latest version.

5. Check for hardware issues

If none of the above solutions worked, it is time to check your Surface Pro hardware. Ensure that the camera lens isn’t dirty or dusty, and the protective film is removed. Use a soft cloth and clean the lens gently.

6. Repair or replace your Surface Pro

If you have tried all the above solutions without success, then it might be time to take your device to an authorized Microsoft technician for a repair, or if it is still under warranty, get a replacement device.

In conclusion, these simple tips can help you fix your Surface Pro camera issue. However, it is crucial to remember that if the camera issue persists, seek help from the manufacturer or authorized technicians to ensure that they don’t cause further damages.
