Have you ever been in a situation where you are scrolling through your Android device, and the screen won’t rotate when you turn it sideways? It can be an annoying and frustrating experience, especially when you need to view or read something in landscape mode. But don’t worry! Here are some tips on how to fix it when your Android screen won’t rotate.

Check the Screen Rotation Settings

The first thing you need to do is check if the screen rotation settings are enabled on your Android device. To do this, swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings menu, and then look for an icon labeled “Auto-rotate” or “Rotation.” If it’s disabled, tap on it to enable screen rotation.

Disable Screen Rotation Lock

If screen rotation is enabled and still not working, then you may have accidentally locked screen rotation. To fix this, you need to disable the screen rotation lock. You can do this by swiping down the notification shade from the top of the screen and look for an icon labeled “Screen Rotation” or “Screen Lock.” If the icon is highlighted or colored, this means screen rotation is locked. Tap on it to disable it.

Restart Your Android Device

If none of the solutions above work, then restarting your Android device could be the solution. Sometimes it can be a minor glitch or temporary issue that can be easily fixed by restarting your device.

Calibrate the Accelerometer

Your Android device has an accelerometer that detects the orientation of your device. It can be calibrated if it’s out of sync, which can cause screen rotation issues. To recalibrate the accelerometer, go to “Settings,” tap “Display,” then tap “Calibrate display.” Follow the instructions on the screen to reset it.

Update Your Android Device

If none of the above solutions worked, then you may need to update your Android device to the latest software version. Go to “Settings,” tap “System,” then tap “Software update” to check for any available updates. If there is an update available, download and install it.

In conclusion, screen rotation issues on Android devices can be easily fixed by following one or more of the methods mentioned above. Just remember to check the screen rotation settings, disable the screen rotation lock, restart your device, calibrate the accelerometer, or update your Android device. Hopefully, one of these solutions works for you, and you can enjoy using your Android device in landscape mode again.
