When you want to enjoy fresh air during your drive without the gusty winds and noise, wind deflectors are the perfect accessory for your vehicle. They not only reduce wind noise, but also help in deflecting rain and debris away from your car’s windows and side mirrors. Fitting wind deflectors is an easy DIY project, which can be accomplished in no time. Follow these 14 simple steps to fit your wind deflectors successfully.

.Choose the right wind deflectors: Wind deflectors are available in various models and designs, so choose ones that are compatible with your vehicle’s make and model.

.Gather the necessary tools: Generally, you will need a clean cloth, rubbing alcohol, adhesive promoter (if supplied), and a Phillips head screwdriver.

.Read the manufacturer’s instructions: Go through the instructions provided with your wind deflectors for any specific installation tips or considerations.

.Park on a level surface: Ensure you are parked on a level surface to allow for proper alignment of the wind deflectors during installation.

.Clean the installation area: Using a clean cloth and rubbing alcohol, thoroughly clean the area where the wind deflector will be installed to remove any dirt or residue.

.Test fit the wind deflectors: Hold the deflector against the door frame to check if it fits correctly and identify its mounting position.

.Apply adhesive promoter (if needed): If your deflector comes with an adhesive promoter, apply it to the door frame edges according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

.Remove backing from adhesive strips: Carefully peel off the protective backing from the adhesive strips on the deflector.

.Align and attach the deflector: Ensure correct alignment by following any markings or indicators provided and press firmly onto the door frame to ensure proper bonding with adhesive strips.

.Install additional mounting clips (if required): Some deflectors come with mounting clips for additional support. If this is the case, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to install them properly.

.Repeat the process for other doors: Follow steps 6 to 10 to install wind deflectors on additional doors as required.

.Check alignment and functionality: Open and close the car doors and windows to ensure there is no obstruction and your new wind deflectors are functioning correctly.

.Allow adhesive to set: Allow at least 24 hours for the adhesive strips to cure before exposing your vehicle to rain or washing it.

.Maintenance: Regularly inspect your wind deflectors for damage, and clean them using mild soap, water, and a soft cloth to prolong their life.

And there you have it – 14 simple steps to fit wind deflectors on your car! Now, you can enjoy quiet rides even when your windows are open, without compromising comfort and convenience.
