YouTube is an excellent platform to watch videos on mobile devices, but sometimes it can be challenging to fast forward or rewind a video for more than 10 seconds, especially when you’re trying to skip the boring parts or rewatch a particular part of the video. In this article, we will discuss how to fast forward and rewind more than ten seconds in the YouTube app.

Here are some ways to fast forward and rewind a video for more than 10 seconds in the YouTube app:

1. Swipe the video

One of the easiest ways to fast forward and rewind a video in the YouTube app is by swiping the video’s timeline left or right. When you swipe a video to the right, it will rewind by 10 seconds, and when you swipe left, it will fast forward by ten seconds.

To rewind or fast forward a video for more than 10 seconds, swipe your finger several times in the direction you want to go. The more you swipe, the faster the video will move in that direction.

2. Use the Progress Bar

The YouTube app’s progress bar can also help you skip forward or backward more than ten seconds. To use this feature, tap on the progress bar once to bring up the red dot. Then drag the red dot left to fast forward or right to rewind.

You can also tap on the progress bar to open the video’s timeline and use the slider to fast forward or rewind the video.

3. Using Keyboard Shortcuts

Most smartphones have a keyboard that can help you control the YouTube app’s video playback. You can use the arrow keys on your keyboard to rewind or fast forward the video.

If the keyboard does not show up, you can enable it by touching the video to bring up the on-screen controls. Once the keyboard is up, use the arrow keys to control the playback.

4. Using YouTube Premium

If you have a YouTube Premium subscription, you can use the “double-tap” gesture on your screen’s left or right side to skip forward or backward by 10 seconds. To skip forward or backward for more than ten seconds, double-tap multiple times in succession.

In conclusion, the YouTube app is an excellent platform to watch online videos. However, when it comes to fast-forwarding or rewinding a video for more than ten seconds, it can be challenging. The good news is that there are several ways to fast forward and rewind the video, as discussed above. By using the techniques outlined in this article, you can enjoy your favorite YouTube videos without any hassle.
