Introduction:

LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional networking platform, allows users to share thoughts, ideas, and experiences with their connections. Though it is common to share posts daily, there might be instances when you realize that an existing post needs editing. Perhaps it contains a typo or you want to add more information. Worry not! Editing your LinkedIn post is a simple process. In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps of editing a published post on LinkedIn.

Step 1: Locate The Post

To begin editing your LinkedIn post, you need to locate the specific post. For this:

1.Log in to your LinkedIn account using a desktop computer or use the LinkedIn mobile app on your smartphone.

2.Visit your profile by clicking on the “Me” icon at the top right corner of the page.

3.Scroll down to find the ‘Activity’ section and click on ‘See all activity’.

4.You’ll see a list of all your recent activities, including posts and comments. Find and select the post you want to edit.

Step 2: Editing Your Post on Desktop

On a desktop computer, follow these steps:

1.Once you’ve located and selected the post you want to edit;

2.Hover over the upper-right corner of the post until you see three vertical dots (ellipsis);

3.Click on these dots and choose ‘Edit post’ from the dropdown menu;

4.Make the necessary changes to your post in the text box provided;

5.Once you’re satisfied with your changes, click on ‘Save’ below the text box.

Step 3: Editing Your Post Using The Mobile App

If you prefer using LinkedIn’s mobile app for editing, follow these steps:

1.On your smartphone’s LinkedIn app, locate and open the desired post;

2.Tap on the three horizontal dots in the upper-right corner of the post;

3.From the popup menu, select ‘Edit Post’;

4.Edit the text and/or media in your post as per your requirements;

5.After making all necessary changes, tap on ‘Save’ in the upper-right corner.

Note: Editing options may slightly vary depending on whether you use Android or iOS. Both methods, however, are very similar and easy to follow.

Conclusion:

Updating a post on LinkedIn can result from various reasons – correcting a mistake, updating information or enhancing your message. The process is straightforward and can be done quickly using a desktop computer or the mobile app. Always remember that it’s crucial to present your message accurately and professionally – so don’t be afraid to make necessary edits to your LinkedIn posts!
