Introduction:

Unicorn hair is a trend that has taken the world of hair color by storm, inspiring people to transform their locks into a mesmerizing array of pastel hues that resemble the majestic mane of a mythical creature. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to dye unicorn hair successfully and achieve a magical transformation.

1. Choose Your Colors:

First, decide which colors you want for your unicorn hair. Pastels and bright shades like pink, lavender, teal, and baby blue are popular choices. You can also mix and match colors or create a multi-tonal look with various shades of a single color.

2. Gather Your Supplies:

To dye your hair unicorn colors, you’ll need the following:

– Hair bleach kit (if you have dark hair)

– Disposable gloves

– Hair dye in your chosen colors

– Mixing bowl

– Tint brush

– Hair clips

– Shower cap/plastic wrap

– Unlocking conditioner for color-treated hair (to seal in the color after rinsing)

3. Prepare Your Hair:

Make sure your hair is clean, dry, and free from any styling products before you start coloring. This will ensure even application and optimal results.

4. Bleach Your Hair (if necessary):

If you have naturally dark hair or previously dyed in a dark color, you’ll need to pre-lighten your hair using a bleach kit. Follow the instructions on the package for proper usage and processing time. Be cautious not to over-process your hair as this may cause damage.

5. Apply the Dye:

Part your hair into several sections and secure them with clips. Wearing disposable gloves, mix each chosen color in its own mixing bowl.

Starting at the roots, apply the dye using a tint brush, making sure to fully saturate each strand of hair for an even result. Continue applying dye to different sections of your hair, alternating colors or using a single tone as desired.

6. Wrap Your Hair:

Once the entire length of your hair is covered in dye, wrap it in a shower cap or plastic wrap to prevent the color from staining clothes or furniture.

7. Process the Color:

Allow the dye to sit in your hair for the recommended amount of time provided by the manufacturer, typically between 30-45 minutes. The longer you wait, the more vibrant and long-lasting the color will be.

8. Rinse and Condition:

After processing, gently rinse your hair in lukewarm water until water runs clear. Avoid using hot water since it can strip color from your hair. After rinsing, apply a generous amount of color-safe conditioner to lock in the dye and provide extra hydration to your hair.

9. Dry and Style:

Gently towel dry or air-dry your newly-dyed unicorn hair, and then style as desired. Remember to use heat-protectant spray if you plan on using styling tools.

10. Maintain Your Unicorn Hair:

To keep your unicorn hair looking vibrant and fresh, use color-safe shampoo and conditioner when washing your hair. Limit the use of heat styling tools and try to minimize sun exposure to prolong the life of your magical new color.

Conclusion:

Achieving a stunning unicorn-inspired mane is easier than ever with these simple steps, so let loose and let your creativity run wild! Transforming into a mystical creature with fabulous hair is now within arm’s reach. Happy coloring!
