1.Familiarize yourself with the controls: Before you start driving, locate the accelerator pedal, brake pedal, and key ignition. Also, make sure you know how to operate any lights or turn signals.

2.Adjust your seat and fasten your seatbelt: Ensure that you are comfortable in your seat and have a clear view of the path ahead. If the golf cart is equipped with seatbelts, fasten them securely.

3.Start the golf cart: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to start the engine or activate the electric motor. You should hear a sound that indicates the golf cart is ready to go.

4.Check for other passengers: Look around to make sure all passengers are seated and secure before you begin driving.

5.Select Forward or Reverse: Locate the forward/reverse switch (F/R switch) near the key ignition, and select your desired direction. Most golf carts have three positions – forward, neutral, and reverse.

6.Press gently on the accelerator: Slowly push down on the accelerator pedal to start moving in your chosen direction. Begin by driving at a slow pace to get used to the handling of the golf cart.

7.Steer smoothly around obstacles: Use both hands on the steering wheel and take wide turns around corners, trees, and other obstacles on the course.

8.Stay on designated paths: Always drive on designated golf cart paths and avoid driving on grassy areas or steep inclines that might be unsafe for a golf cart.

9.Brake gradually when stopping: As you approach your stopping point, release your foot from the accelerator and gently apply pressure to the brake pedal until you come to a complete stop.

10.Park properly: Once you’re finished driving, position your golf cart in a designated parking area, set the parking brake if available, turn off any lights or signals, and switch the F/R switch to neutral.

11.Turn off the golf cart: Remove the key from the ignition, ensuring that the engine or electric motor is turned off. Make sure all passengers are safely off the cart before walking away.

By following these 11 simple steps, you can enjoy a safe and smooth golf cart driving experience. Always remember to adhere to the specific rules and regulations of the golf course or community in which you are driving.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
