Gerard Way, the former lead singer of the popular rock band My Chemical Romance, is known for his striking and bold makeup style. If you’re a fan of his look and want to recreate it, follow these 10 simple steps to achieve Gerard Way’s signature makeup.

1. Start with a clean slate: Before applying any makeup, make sure your face is clean and moisturized. This will create a smooth canvas for your makeup application.

2. Apply foundation: Use a foundation that matches your skin tone to create an even base. Apply it evenly on your face using a foundation brush or sponge. Make sure to blend the foundation well, especially around the hairline and jawline.

3. Apply concealer: Use a concealer to hide any imperfections, dark circles, or blemishes on your face. Blend the concealer well into your foundation using a small brush or sponge.

4. Set your base with powder: To ensure your foundation and concealer stay in place, apply a translucent setting powder all over your face with a large brush. Pay extra attention to areas that tend to get oily, like the T-zone.

5. Define your eyebrows: Gerard Way often sports bold, defined eyebrows. Use an eyebrow pencil or powder that matches your brows’ natural color to fill in any sparse areas and create clean lines. Finish by brushing them upwards with a spoolie brush.

6. Apply black eyeliner: Gerard’s signature look includes bold, black eyeliner around his eyes. Start by applying black pencil or gel eyeliner on both the upper and lower lash lines. Make sure the eyeliner covers the entire lash line from corner to corner.

7. Create a smoky eye effect: With a small makeup brush or sponge applicator, smudge the black eyeliner upwards onto the eyelid, creating an intense smoky effect around the eyes. Use a black eyeshadow to blend the eyeliner’s outer edges and make the smoky effect more cohesive.

8. Add mascara: To enhance the eye makeup further, apply black mascara to both your upper and lower lashes.

9. Apply blush: Gerard Way often sports a subtle flush on his cheeks. Choose a blush color that complements your skin tone, and apply it lightly to the apples of your cheeks using a blush brush.

10. Complete the look with a nude or light lip color: Since Gerard Way’s eye makeup is bold, opt for a more subtle lip color. Choose a lipstick or lip gloss in a nude or light shade that complements your skin tone. Apply it evenly across your lips and blot excess product with a tissue if necessary.

And there you have it! With these 10 steps, you can recreate Gerard Way’s iconic makeup look and rock it at concerts, events, or whenever you feel like unleashing your inner rockstar.
