Trello is a versatile and user-friendly project management tool that helps individuals and teams organize their tasks and progress. While using Trello, you might find yourself wanting to delete a card (a task) from your board. This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to delete Trello cards.

Step 1: Log in to Trello

First, log in to your Trello account by going to www.trello.com and entering your email and password. If you have not yet registered, sign up for a free account.

Step 2: Choose the Relevant Board

Once logged in, you are presented with a list of your boards. Locate the board containing the card that you want to delete and click on it.

Step 3: Find the Card to Delete

Every Trello board consists of multiple lists, each containing different cards. Search through these lists for the card you wish to delete. Once you’ve found it, click on the card to open its detailed view.

Step 4: Archive the Card

Before deleting a card, you need to archive it first. In the detailed view of your selected card, click on the “Actions” tab on the right-hand side. Click on “Archive” under Actions. A pop-up window will confirm that the card has been archived successfully.

Step 5: Access Archived Items

After archiving the card, it’s time to delete it permanently. At the top right corner of your board, locate a button with three dots (the “Show Menu” button). Click on this button and then choose “Archived Items” from the drop-down menu.

Step 6: Delete Archived Card

Finally, find the archived card that you want to delete from the list of archived items. Hover over the card’s title and click on “Delete.” A pop-up window appears asking if you are sure you want to delete the card. Click “Yes, delete this card” to complete the deletion process.

Conclusion

Deleting Trello cards is an essential skill for maintaining a tidy and organized project management board. Now that you know how to delete Trello cards, you can keep your boards clutter-free and focused on relevant tasks. However, remember that deleted cards cannot be retrieved, so make sure archiving the card is not enough before permanently deleting it.
