How to Delete Photos From iPhone but Not iCloud

As an iPhone user, you might have been wondering how to delete photos from your iPhone without deleting them from iCloud. This scenario can occur if you have enabled iCloud Photo Library or iCloud syncing. When you delete a photo from your iPhone, it would automatically be removed from your iCloud account if iCloud Library is enabled. However, if you only want to remove photos from your iPhone to create some extra space, you can do so without affecting your iCloud storage.

If you are not sure how to delete photos from your iPhone without removing them from iCloud, the following steps will guide you through the process:

1. Open the “Photos” app on your iPhone.

2. Find the photo or photos you want to delete from your iPhone.

3. Tap and hold the photo or select multiple photos to delete at once.

4. When you have selected the photos you want to delete, tap on the trash bin icon on the lower right corner of the screen.

5. Tap on “Delete Photo” to confirm your selection.

6. The selected photos would now be removed from your iPhone but not your iCloud account.

7. If you are using iCloud Photo Library, the deleted photos would still be available and visible on the iCloud website or other Apple devices where iCloud syncing is enabled.

It is worth noting that this process only applies to photos taken with your iPhone camera or saved directly to your device. If you have photos synced from other sources, such as from iTunes or a computer, you would need to delete them from their source to remove them from your iPhone without affecting your iCloud account.

In conclusion, deleting photos from your iPhone without removing them from iCloud is a simple process that can help create space on your iPhone while keeping your iCloud account intact. However, always take caution while deleting photos from your iPhone, so you do not inadvertently delete important pictures. Also, consider backing up your photos to iCloud or other backup solutions to avoid losing them permanently in case of accidental deletion.
