Step 1: Start with clean, dry hair

Before cutting your fringe bangs, make sure your hair is clean and dry. This will help you get a more precise cut and avoid uneven results.

Step 2: Comb and section your hair

Use a fine-tooth comb to detangle your hair. Part your hair in its natural parting and then separate the front section you want to cut into bangs.

Step 3: Determine the thickness and length

Decide on the thickness and length of your fringe bangs depending on your face shape and personal preference. Thinner bangs work better for round faces, while thicker, fuller bangs suit long face shapes.

Step 4: Pin back the rest of your hair

Clip back the rest of your hair, leaving only the section you want to cut as bangs. This will prevent any accidental snips on other parts of your hair.

Step 5: Hold scissors vertically

Hold the scissors vertically with the tips pointing upwards. This will create a softer, more natural-looking fringe.

Step 6: Section and hold the fringe

Divide your fringe into small sections horizontally. Hold one section between your index and middle fingers, with a slight tension.

Step 7: Cut at an angle

Begin cutting at an angle, starting from the middle of the section and working outward. This angled cut will create a more natural looking gradient along the edge of the fringe.

Step 8: Check for evenness

As you cut each section, gently comb through it to check for evenness. Make adjustments as needed.

Step 9: Blend edges using point cutting

To create a softer edge, use point cutting technique by snipping into the ends of your bangs vertically.

Step 10: Layer if desired

For a more dimensional look, add subtle layers to your fringe by holding small sections of hair at a 45-degree angle and cutting the ends.

Step 11: Trim side sections

Trim the side sections of your bangs at a slight angle to create a seamless transition with the rest of your hair.

Step 12: Style your new fringe

Using a round brush and hairdryer, style your bangs by blow-drying them straight or with a slight curve depending on your desired look.

Step 13: Maintain regular trims

To keep your fringe looking fresh, make sure to trim it every few weeks or as needed.

By following these 13 easy steps, you can successfully cut your own fringe bangs at home and achieve a stylish, face-framing look.
