Introduction:

Colds are common and can be quite annoying when they strike. Luckily, there are numerous natural remedies that can help you fight off a cold in no time. One such remedy is the mighty garlic. Garlic is known for its antiviral, antibacterial, and immune-boosting properties, making it an excellent cure for the common cold. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to cure a cold using garlic.

Step 1: Choose Your Garlic

When selecting garlic, ensure that you pick fresh, organic bulbs that are firm and free from blemishes or mold. Fresh garlic will provide maximum benefits due to its higher concentration of active compounds.

Step 2: Crush the Garlic

Crushing garlic releases its active compound called allicin, which is responsible for its powerful health benefits. Use a garlic press or simply mince it with a knife.

Step 3: Eat Raw Garlic

For optimal results, consume raw crushed garlic directly. Start with one clove and gradually increase to two or three cloves per day. Raw garlic might taste strong and pungent but that’s where its healing power lies.

Step 4: Add Garlic to Food

If consuming raw garlic proves too intense, incorporate it into your meals instead. Some options include adding crushed garlic to salad dressings, soups, pasta sauces, or sautéed vegetables.

Step 5: Prepare Garlic Tea

Garlic tea is another effective way of reaping the benefits of garlic. Crush two cloves of garlic and steep them in boiling water for ten minutes. Optionally, add honey and lemon juice for better taste and additional health benefits.

Step 6: Use Garlic Oil

Applying garlic oil on your chest or using it in a homemade vapor rub can provide relief from congestion. Purchase ready-made garlic oil or make some by cooking minced garlic in olive or coconut oil and straining the mixture.

Step 7: Garlic Poultice

Applying a poultice made of crushed garlic over your chest can work wonders in providing relief from congestion. Simply wrap the mashed garlic in a cloth or gauze and apply it to your chest for an hour or so.

Step 8: Practice Good Hygiene

Concurrency with garlic treatment, make sure to practice good hygiene like washing your hands frequently, not touching your face, and using tissues or handkerchiefs when coughing or sneezing.

Step 9: Get Ample Rest

While using garlic to treat colds, allow your body enough time to recover by getting sufficient rest. Aim for seven to nine hours of sleep each night.

Step 10: Stay Hydrated

Drinking enough water during a cold helps replace any fluids lost due to fever or mucus production. Staying hydrated also aids in flushing toxins from your body and maintaining overall immunity.

In Conclusion:

Garlic is a powerful natural remedy that can help you combat a cold effectively. Follow these ten steps, and you’ll be on your way to a speedy recovery. As always, if symptoms persist or worsen, consult with a healthcare professional for further advice and treatment recommendations.
