Knowing your iPhone‘s battery health is crucial for maximizing its lifespan and ensuring it performs optimally. Thankfully, Apple makes it easy to check this vital information directly on your device. Here’s how:

1. Navigate to Settings: Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone.

2. Find Battery: Scroll down and tap on “Battery.”

3. Check Battery Health: Look for the “Battery Health” section. Here, you’ll find the following information:

Maximum Capacity: This percentage represents the maximum charge your battery can hold compared to when it was new. As your battery ages, its capacity naturally declines.
Peak Performance Capability: This indicates whether your battery is able to support the peak performance of your iPhone. If your battery health is significantly degraded, you might experience performance issues like unexpected shutdowns or slow charging.
Battery Health Management: This feature helps optimize your battery’s performance and prolong its lifespan. It can also offer suggestions for improving battery health, such as reducing background app activity.

Understanding Your Battery Health:

Above 80%: Your battery is performing well and should last for several more years.
Between 60% and 80%: Your battery is still usable, but you may notice shorter battery life and potentially slower performance.
Below 60%: Your battery is significantly degraded and could be impacting your iPhone’s overall performance. Consider replacing it for a smoother experience.

Pro Tips:

Regularly update your iPhone’s software: Updates can help improve battery efficiency and performance.
Reduce screen brightness and background app activity: These settings can significantly improve battery life.
Charge your iPhone to 80% and avoid fully draining it: This helps maintain optimal battery health over time.

By regularly checking your iPhone’s battery health and following these tips, you can ensure your device stays powered up and performs at its best.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
