1. Plan ahead: Before you arrive, make sure you’ve booked a room at your desired hotel and have the confirmation number or email handy.

2. Arrive during check-in hours: Depending on the hotel, check-in times can vary, so it’s important to arrive during the designated timeframe.

3. Have proper identification: Bring a valid ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, as hotels may require identification for guests checking in.

4. Use credit or debit card for incidentals: Most hotels require a credit or debit card for any additional charges that may occur during your stay, like room service or mini-bar usage.

5. Approach the front desk: Walk up to the reception area and make sure the staff at the front desk is aware of your arrival.

6. Provide reservation details: Let the staff know you’ve arrived to check in, providing them with your name and reservation details, such as confirmation number or booking reference.

7. Confirm booking information: Verify your booking details with the receptionist, including room type, number of guests, and any special requests made at the time of booking.

8. Inquire about hotel amenities: Ask about any available facilities and services offered by the hotel, such as Wi-Fi access, gym access, pool hours, and breakfast availability.

9. Obtain your room key or access card: Once all necessary information has been exchanged and verified at the front desk, you will receive an electronic keycard or traditional key allowing access to your assigned room.

10. Request assistance if needed: If you are unable to carry your luggage yourself or have other specific needs during your stay, ask hotel staff for help or inquire about available services like bellhops or concierge assistance.

11. Locate your room: Find directions to your assigned room within the hotel complex using elevator signage or maps provided by reception staff during check-in.

12. Perform a room inspection: Upon entering your room, be sure to inspect it for cleanliness, functionality of included amenities, and any potential issues that may need to be addressed immediately by hotel staff.

13. Settle in: Store any luggage and belongings in the room, make use of provided amenities (such as toiletries), connect to Wi-Fi if needed, and get comfortable in your new temporary space.

14. Enjoy Your Stay: Now that you are settled in, explore the hotel and surrounding area, take advantage of available facilities and services, and enjoy your stay at the hotel.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
