If you’re an avid gamer, there’s a good chance you have an EA/Origin account. It’s a great way to connect with other players, purchase games, and earn rewards. However, sometimes you may want to change your account name for various reasons. Maybe you don’t want to be recognized under your current username, or maybe you just want a fresh start. Whatever your reason is, changing your EA/Origin account name is a quick and easy process. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps you need to take to change your EA/Origin account name.

Step 1: Go to the EA/Origin website

The first step in changing your account name is to go to the EA/Origin website. You can access it by clicking on this link here: https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/. Once you’re there, you’ll want to log in to your account. If you’re already logged in, skip to step 2.

Step 2: Access your account settings

After you’ve logged in, you’ll want to click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen. This will bring up a drop-down menu. From here, you’ll want to select “Account and Privacy”.

Step 3: Change your account name

After clicking on “Account and Privacy”, you’ll be taken to a new page. Here, you’ll see a few different options. You’ll want to select “Edit” next to “Basic Information”. This will bring up a new page where you can change your account name.

Step 4: Save changes

Once you’ve entered your new account name, click on “Save” to confirm your changes. That’s it! Your new username will now be visible to other gamers.

Note: It’s important to keep in mind that if you’ve changed your name in the past, you may not be able to change it again for a certain period of time. Also, if you’re trying to change your EA/Origin ID, you’ll need to contact EA/Origin support as this is a separate process.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
