If you own an Android phone, you may be aware that the Caller ID displays your phone number by default when calling someone. However, did you know that you can change your Caller ID name to display a custom name instead of your phone number? This can be helpful in situations where you want to maintain anonymity or if you want to personalize your outgoing calls. In this article, we will guide you on how to change your Caller ID name on Android.

Step 1: Check with Your Carrier

Before we get started, it’s important to note that not all carriers allow you to change your Caller ID name. You will need to check with your carrier to see if this is an option. Some carriers charge a fee for this service, while others may include it in your plan.

Step 2: Modify Your Google Account Information

Once you have confirmed that your carrier allows you to change your Caller ID name, the next step is to modify your Google account information. Follow the steps below:

1. Open the Google app on your Android phone.

2. Tap the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner.

3. Tap on “Settings.”

4. Tap on “Google Account.”

5. Tap on “Personal Info.”

6. Tap on “Name.”

7. Modify your name to your desired Caller ID name.

Step 3: Restart Your Phone

Once you have modified your Google account information, restart your phone. This will allow your changes to take effect.

Step 4: Check Your Caller ID

After restarting your phone, make an outgoing call to check if your Caller ID name has been updated. If everything worked correctly, your custom Caller ID name should be displayed instead of your phone number.

Conclusion

Changing your Caller ID name is a simple process, and it can add a personal touch to your outgoing calls. Remember, not all carriers allow you to change your Caller ID name, so it’s important to check with your carrier before proceeding. Once you have confirmed that it’s possible, modify your Google account information, restart your phone, and check your Caller ID. With these simple steps, you can change your Caller ID name on Android and personalize your outgoing calls.
