Microsoft Edge is a powerful web browser that comes pre-installed with Windows 10 operating system. It has been designed to provide you with a fast and secure browsing experience. One of the features that make Edge stand out is its search engine, which is set to Bing by default. However, you are not restricted to using Bing as your search engine. In this article, we will show you how to change the default search engine in Microsoft Edge.

Step 1: Open Microsoft Edge

To change the default search engine in Microsoft Edge, you must first open the browser. Click on the Edge icon on the taskbar or search for “Microsoft Edge” in the Start menu.

Step 2: Open Edge Settings

Once you have opened Microsoft Edge, click on the three dots located in the top right corner of the browser. This will bring up a menu. From the menu, select “Settings.”

Step 3: Select “Privacy, search, and services”

After opening Edge settings, scroll down until you see the “Privacy, search, and services” option. Click on it to open the settings.

Step 4: Choose the search engine of your choice

In the “Privacy, search, and services” section, click on the “Address bar and search” option. This will bring up a drop-down list with various search engines to choose from. Select the search engine of your choice.

Step 5: Confirm your choice

Once you have selected your preferred search engine, you can close the settings by clicking on the three dots located in the top-right corner of the window. From the menu, select “Close Settings.”

Step 6: Try out the new search engine

Now that you have changed the default search engine in Microsoft Edge, you can try it out by typing in a search query into the address bar. Your browser will now use the new search engine to display search results.

Changing the default search engine in Microsoft Edge is a simple and straightforward process that can be done in just a few clicks. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily switch to your preferred search engine and enjoy faster and more relevant search results. With the ability to customize your browsing experience, Microsoft Edge becomes an even more powerful tool for browsing the web.
