Introduction:

Wearing the right bra size is important for confidence, comfort, and overall breast health. Unfortunately, many women struggle with how to measure their bra cup size accurately. In this article, we will explore the methods to calculate your bra cup size and ensure you find the proper fit.

Step 1: Measure Your Band Size

To begin calculating your band size, you need a soft measuring tape. Here’s how:

1. Stand in front of a mirror and wrap the tape measure around your ribcage, just beneath your breasts.

2. Make sure the measuring tape is parallel to the floor and sits snug against your body.

3. Exhale fully before noting down the measurement (in inches or centimeters).

If you obtain an odd number, round up to the nearest even number.

Step 2: Measure Your Bust Size

Next, you need to obtain a measurement of your bust size by following these steps:

1. Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your breasts.

2. Keeping the tape measure parallel to the floor, carefully make sure it’s not too tight or too loose.

3. Note down this measurement (in inches or centimeters).

Step 3: Calculate Your Cup Size

Now that you have both measurements – band and bust size – follow these steps to determine your cup size:

1. Subtract your band measurement from your bust measurement.

2. Refer to the cup size chart below to find your corresponding cup letter based on the difference between your measurements:

– Difference less than 1 inch (2.5 cm): AA Cup

– Difference of 1 inch (2.5 cm): A Cup

– Difference of 2 inches (5 cm): B Cup

– Difference of 3 inches (7.5 cm): C Cup

– Difference of 4 inches (10 cm): D Cup

– Difference of 5 inches (12.5 cm): DD/E Cup

– Difference of 6 inches (15 cm): DDD/F Cup

– And continue on with G, H, I…

For example, if your bust measurement is 38 inches and your band size is 34 inches, the difference is 4 inches. According to the chart above, that corresponds to a D cup.

Step 4: Combine Band and Cup Size

With both your band size and cup size determined, you can now put them together to get your bra size.

For example:

– If your band size is 34 and you have calculated your cup size as D, then your bra size is simply: 34D.

Conclusion:

Now that you know how to calculate your bra cup size, you can find the right bras offering comfort, style, and support. Remember that every brand may vary in its sizing standards, so always try on different bras and styles to find the perfect fit for you.
