How to Bypass Android Lock Screen Using Emergency Call

The lock screen on your Android device is there for a reason – to keep your private information safe from prying eyes. However, there may be times when you forget your lock screen pattern, passcode or password, and you desperately need to access your device. In such cases, you can bypass the Android lock screen using the emergency call function. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Wake Up Your Phone

If your phone is off, turn it on. If it’s already on, wake it up by pressing the power button, swiping up or pressing the home button.

Step 2: Open the Emergency Call Screen

On the lock screen, you will see the emergency call option at the bottom of the screen. Tap on it to open the emergency call screen.

Step 3: Dial a Fake Emergency Number

Now, you need to dial a fake emergency number that doesn’t exist, such as #123#. Tap on the call button or the green phone icon to dial the number.

Step 4: Quickly Tap Multiple Times

When the call is being connected, quickly tap on the end call button, the power button or the home button – whichever is convenient for you. You need to do this as quickly as possible.

Step 5: Repeat As Needed

If the first attempt is unsuccessful, repeat the process by dialing the fake emergency number and quickly tapping multiple times until you bypass the lock screen.

Step 6: Access Your Phone

Once you’ve bypassed the lock screen, you can access your phone without entering a pattern, passcode or password. However, it’s important to remember that this method only works on older Android versions (pre-Android 5.0). If your device is running on Android 5.0 or later versions, this method won’t work.

In conclusion, bypassing the Android lock screen using the emergency call function may seem like an easy way to access your phone without your password, pattern or passcode. However, it can be a security threat, as anyone can use this method to access your device. Therefore, it’s always better to remember your lock screen information or use the Forgot Password feature to reset your password safely.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
