Windows 11 brings with it a host of new features and a revamped user interface, but one thing that remains unchanged is the ability to block or unblock a program from accessing the internet. This feature is useful if you want to prevent a program from using your internet connection or if you want to allow a program to access the internet that may have been blocked by your firewall. In this article, we will guide you on how to block or unblock a program from using the internet on Windows 11 so that you can take full control of your internet connection.

Method 1: Block a program from using the internet on Windows 11

Step 1: Click on the Start menu button and search for “Windows Security” or click on the shield icon in the system tray.

Step 2: In the Windows Security window, click on “Firewall & network protection”.

Step 3: Click on “Allow an app through firewall”.

Step 4: Click on the “Change settings” button.

Step 5: Scroll down the list to find the program you want to block.

Step 6: Uncheck the box next to the program you want to block and click on “OK” to save the changes.

Step 7: A message will appear asking you if you want to block the program on public, private, or both networks. Choose the appropriate option and click on “OK”.

Step 8: The program will now be blocked from accessing the internet.

Method 2: Unblock a program from using the internet on Windows 11

Step 1: Follow steps 1-4 from method 1 above.

Step 2: Scroll down the list to find the program you want to unblock.

Step 3: Check the box next to the program you want to unblock and click on “OK” to save the changes.

Step 4: The program will now be able to access the internet.

Conclusion

Blocking or unblocking a program from accessing the internet on Windows 11 is a simple process that can help you take control of your internet connection. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can easily block or unblock a program from accessing the internet on your Windows 11 computer. With this knowledge, you can prevent programs from accessing the internet without your permission and unblock programs that may have been mistakenly blocked by your firewall.
