YouTube Kids is a great platform for kids to access entertaining and educational videos. However, as a parent or guardian, you may want to block certain videos or channels that are not appropriate for your child’s age or values. Thankfully, YouTube Kids provides an easy and effective way of blocking videos and channels.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to block a video or channel on YouTube Kids:

1. Open the YouTube Kids app on your device.

2. Find the video or channel that you want to block.

3. Tap on the video thumbnail or channel icon to open it.

4. Tap on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the screen.

5. Select “Block this video” or “Block this channel” from the dropdown menu.

6. Confirm the block by tapping “Yes.”

7. The video or channel will now be blocked and won’t appear in search results, recommendations, or playlists.

You can also unblock videos or channels by following these steps:

1. Tap on the profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

2. Select “Settings.”

3. Tap on “Blocked videos & channels.”

4. Find the video or channel that you want to unblock.

5. Tap on the “X” icon to unblock the video or channel.

Blocking videos and channels is an important step in ensuring that your child has a safe and positive experience on YouTube Kids. By using this feature, you can limit their exposure to inappropriate content and help them explore the platform with peace of mind.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
