Android devices offer a lot of customization options to its users, and one of the most basic but useful options is to change the home screen. Personalizing your home screen can not only make your device look better but can also save time by placing regularly used apps or widgets in convenient locations. Here is how you can assign a home screen on Android.

Step 1: Tap and hold an empty space

To assign a home screen on an Android device, tap and hold on an empty space on the home screen. If you already have multiple home screens, make sure that you are on the screen that you want to set as your default.

Step 2: Tap on Home screen settings

After holding the empty space for a few seconds, you will see an option for Home screen settings at the bottom of your screen. Tap on it to proceed.

Step 3: Select Set default home screen

In the Home screen settings menu, look for the option Set default home screen, and select it. You will now see a list of all the home screens available on your device.

Step 4: Choose your preferred home screen

Select the home screen that you want to set as your default option by tapping on it. Once selected, your device will automatically save your selection and take you back to your home screen.

Step 5: Customizing your home screen

Now that you have set your preferred home screen, you can customize it further by adding or removing apps, widgets, and shortcuts. To add a new widget or app, long-press on an empty space on your home screen and select the option you want to add from the menu.

Alternatively, you can also remove any app or widget from your home screen by long-pressing on it and dragging to the trash or remove option that appears on the screen.

Conclusion

Assigning a home screen on Android is a simple process that can be completed in just a few steps. It allows you to save time and make the most of your device by customizing it to suit your preferences. Whether you are a new user or an experienced one, following these steps will help you personalize your Android device and make it your own.
