For a Mac user, copying and pasting text without formatting can be a huge hassle. When you copy text from a website or document and paste it into another document, you may experience formatting issues like odd fonts and sizes, different colors, or even hyperlinks. This is especially frustrating when you are copying text from a source that is not compatible with your current document’s formatting.

Fortunately, there are some simple and effective ways to avoid these problems and always copy and paste text without formatting on a Mac. In this article, we will show you how to do it step-by-step.

Method 1: Use the Keyboard Shortcut

The easiest way to copy and paste text without formatting on a Mac is to use a keyboard shortcut. Follow these simple steps:

1. Select the text you want to copy.

2. Press “Command + C” to copy the text.

3. Place the cursor where you want to paste the text.

4. Press “Command + Shift + V” to paste the text without formatting.

That’s it! The text will be pasted without any formatting, such as font or color changes.

Method 2: Use the “Paste and Match Style” Option

Another way to copy and paste text without formatting is to use the “Paste and Match Style” option. Here is what you need to do:

1. Select the text you want to copy.

2. Press “Command + C” to copy the text.

3. Place the cursor where you want to paste the text.

4. Click on “Edit” from the top menu bar.

5. Click on “Paste and Match Style” from the dropdown menu.

This will paste the text without any formatting.

Method 3: Use a Third-Party App

If you are tired of manually removing formatting every time you copy and paste text on your Mac, you can use a third-party app to make the process automatic. Here are some of the best apps you can use:

1. Plain Clip: This app automatically removes formatting when you copy and paste text. It works in the background and requires no user intervention.

2. CopyLess: This app allows you to copy and paste multiple items at once. It also has a built-in feature that removes formatting when you copy text.

3. Flycut: This app saves a list of all your copied items and allows you to select the item you want to paste without any formatting.
