The iPhone is a versatile and powerful device with numerous built-in features. Although it comes with a wide range of apps pre-installed, the calculator is one of its most simple yet essential utilities. In this article, we will guide you through the process of adding a calculator to your iPhone, be it the basic stock calculator or a more advanced third-party option.

1. Using the built-in calculator

The built-in calculator app for the iPhone is simple and easy to use. To access it, follow these steps:

a. Unlock your iPhone and go to your home screen.

b. Swipe left or right until you find the Calculator app icon (the icon featuring a gray square with several buttons inside).

c. Tap on the Calculator icon to open the app and start using it.

Note: If you can’t find the Calculator app on your home screen, use Spotlight Search by swiping down on any part of your home screen. Type “Calculator” in the search bar, and tap on it when it appears in the search results.

2. Adding a widget for quick access to the stock calculator

iOS 14 introduced widgets, allowing users to add various types of widgets directly to their home screen for quick access. To add a widget that includes the stock Calculator app, follow these steps:

a. Press and hold an empty area on your home page until all your app icons start shaking.

b. Tap on the “+” sign at the top-left corner of your screen.

c. Scroll through the widget suggestions until you find one that includes the Calculator app (e.g., a Smart Stack widget), then tap “Add Widget.”

d. Drag and drop the widget into your desired location on your home screen.

e. Press “Done” at the top-right corner of your screen when finished.

3. Downloading a third-party calculator

If you require more advanced calculator features or simply prefer an alternative design, you can easily download third-party calculator apps from the App Store. Here’s how:

a. Launch the App Store on your iPhone.

b. Tap on the “Search” tab located at the bottom-right corner and type “Calculator” in the search bar.

c. Browse through the list of available calculator apps, read their descriptions and reviews, and choose one that fits your needs.

d. Tap on “Get” or the app’s price (if it’s a paid app) to download and install it on your iPhone.

In conclusion, adding a calculator to your iPhone is quite simple whether you’re using the default app or exploring other options through widgets and third-party alternatives. No matter which method you choose, having quick access to a calculator can be extremely useful in various everyday situations.
