PowerPoint is one of the most popular presentation software in the market today. It is widely used for various purposes, including academic, corporate, and personal presentations. One of the ways to enhance your PowerPoint presentation is by adding a background picture to your slide.

Here are the steps on how to do it:

1. Choose a Background Picture

Before you start adding a background picture to your slide, you need to choose a suitable image. You can either use a personal photo or look for free stock photos online. The photo you choose must be appropriate for the message you’re trying to convey and must be high-quality to avoid pixelation.

2. Open PowerPoint and Go to the Slide Master

Open the PowerPoint presentation you want to add the background picture to. Click on the “View” tab, and then click “Slide Master.” The Slide Master is where you can edit the layout and formatting of your slides.

3. Insert Picture

Once you’re in the Slide Master, click on the “Insert” tab, and then click “Pictures.” This will allow you to choose the image that you want to use as your background. After selecting the picture, click “Insert.”

4. Adjust the Picture

The picture may not fit perfectly with your slide, so you need to adjust it. Click on the picture, and then drag it to the position that you want it to be on your slide. You can also resize the picture by clicking on the corners and dragging them to adjust the size.

5. Send the Picture Back

To finish, you need to send the picture back so that the text or other objects on your slide can be seen. Click on the picture, and then click on the “Send Backward” button, which you can find on the Format tab under the “Arrange” group. Click on the “Send Backward” button until the picture is behind all the objects on your slide.

6. Close the Slide Master

To exit the Slide Master, click on the “Slide Master” tab, and then click on “Close Master View.” This will take you back to your PowerPoint presentation, and you should see your background picture on your slide.

In summary, adding a background picture to your PowerPoint presentation is an easy and effective way to enhance your slides. It requires selecting a suitable image, opening the Slide Master, inserting the picture, adjusting it, sending it back, and closing the Slide Master. With these simple steps, you can make your presentation more visually appealing and engaging.
