Give Chicken Parm The Best Crunch Possible With A Cornflake Coating

Chicken Parmesan, a beloved Italian-American dish, traditionally features breaded chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese. However, those looking to add an extra crunch to their chicken parm can shake things up by swapping out breadcrumbs for an unexpected ingredient: cornflakes. Yes, cornflakes! This cereal isn’t just for breakfast bowls anymore; it’s your secret weapon for creating the crunchiest, most satisfying chicken parm you’ve ever tasted.

Why Cornflakes?

Cornflakes have a distinct texture that remains crispier than breadcrumbs when baked or fried. The unique composition of cornflakes ensures they retain their crunch, providing a satisfying contrast to the tender chicken and gooey cheese in every bite.

How to Use Cornflakes as Coating

To make the perfect cornflake-coated chicken parmesan, you’ll need boneless, skinless chicken breasts, Cornflake crumbs, flour, eggs, your favorite marinara sauce, and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.

1. Begin by crushing the cornflakes into fine crumbs. You can use a food processor or put them in a zip-top bag and use a rolling pin to crush them.

2. Set up your breading station with three separate shallow dishes: one for flour seasoned with salt and pepper, one for beaten eggs, and one for cornflake crumbs.

3. Dip each chicken breast first into the flour to coat it lightly. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs before dredging it through the cornflake crumbs until fully coated.

4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook each breaded chicken breast until golden brown on both sides.

5. Place the fried chicken breasts in a baking dish and top each with marinara sauce and a generous sprinkle of shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese blend.

6. Bake in an oven preheated to 375°F (190°C) until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown – about 20 minutes.

The result is an invigoratingly crunchy Chicken Parmesan that will be an instant hit at any dinner table. By incorporating cornflakes into your recipe instead of traditional breadcrumbs, you’ll add an unexpected twist that delivers maximum crunch and takes this classic comfort food to new heights.

It’s time to let your traditional breadcrumbs take a break and introduce your palate to the wonderful world of cornflake-coated Chicken Parm. Bellissimo!
