Genesis Sells One-Millionth Car Since 2015 Debut, G80 Is Best-Selling Model

Genesis, Hyundai’s luxury vehicle division, has achieved a significant milestone by selling its one-millionth car since the brand’s debut in 2015. This remarkable achievement showcases the brand’s growing popularity among consumers seeking luxury, performance, and value in their automobiles.

Founded as a standalone brand in November 2015, Genesis was established to compete with established luxury carmakers by offering vehicles that blend elegant design, advanced technology, and refined performance with a premium customer experience. Its commitment to these principles has won over a discerning client base and enabled the brand to hit the one-million-car milestone within a relatively short period.

The G80 model stands out as the best-selling model in the Genesis lineup. Originally introduced as the second generation Hyundai Genesis before the brand’s formation and rebranded as the Genesis G80, it quickly became synonymous with the brand’s core values of sophistication and innovation.

The G80 has been particularly well-received for its balance between comfort and driving dynamics, its high level of standard equipment, and its competitive pricing when compared to more established luxury sedans. With sleek styling and a focus on driver enjoyment without sacrificing luxury or build quality, the G80 has resonated with consumers looking for an alternative to more expensive European counterparts.

Genesis has expanded its lineup over the years with models like the compact G70 sports sedan, the flagship G90 sedan, and more recently, SUVs like the GV80 and GV70. However, it is the midsize G80 that remains at the heart of Genesis’s sales success story.

As Genesis continues to evolve with new models and innovations – including alternative powertrains such as electric vehicles – industry analysts will be watching closely to see if it can maintain this momentum in an increasingly competitive market. Nevertheless, one million vehicles sold stands as testimony to how much Genesis has achieved in less than a decade since making its ambitious entry into the luxury automotive segment.
