The Fisker Ocean is an all-electric SUV that marks the return of automotive designer Henrik Fisker to the EV market. Launched in late 2022, the Ocean aims to combine sustainability, performance, and affordability in the competitive electric SUV segment.

Key Features:

  • Range: Up to 350 miles for the top-tier model
  • Sustainability: Extensive use of recycled materials in interior and components
  • Unique Features: Solar roof panel, rotating center screen, “California Mode” for open-air driving
  • Performance: 0-60 mph in as low as 3.6 seconds for the top trim
  • Pricing: Starting at $37,499 for the base model

The Ocean’s design is a blend of rugged SUV aesthetics and sleek, modern EV styling. Its exterior features crisp lines, a closed-off grille, and distinctive LED lighting. The SUV’s party piece is its “California Mode,” which lowers all windows and retracts the roof panel for an open-air driving experience.

Inside, the Ocean boasts a minimalist interior with a focus on sustainability. The cabin uses recycled materials extensively, including carpets made from reclaimed fishing nets. The centerpiece is a 17.1-inch rotating touchscreen that can switch between portrait mode for driving and landscape mode for entertainment when parked.

Fisker has positioned the Ocean as a more affordable alternative to luxury electric SUVs, while still offering premium features and performance. The company has partnered with Magna Steyr for production, leveraging the contract manufacturer’s expertise to avoid the production challenges that often plague new automakers.

The Ocean represents Fisker’s vision of accessible, sustainable mobility. By combining innovative features, competitive pricing, and a focus on environmental responsibility, Fisker aims to carve out a significant niche in the rapidly growing electric SUV market.
