Best Keto Beef Stew Recipe – How To Make Keto Beef Stew

Introduction

A warm, hearty, and delicious beef stew is a classic dish that has comforted many families around the dinner table. But for those on a ketogenic diet, traditional beef stew recipes may be off-limits due to the carbohydrate content of the ingredients. Don’t worry, though! This article presents an easy and savory keto beef stew recipe that will satisfy your cravings while keeping you on track with your low-carb lifestyle. So grab your apron and let’s get started!

Ingredients

– 2 lbs beef chuck roast, cut into 2-inch cubes

– 1/2 cup almond flour

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 2 tbsp olive oil

– 1 medium onion, chopped

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 4 cups beef broth

– 2 cups chopped carrots (optional for stricter keto followers)

– 2 cups chopped celery

– 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper

– 1 tsp dried thyme

– 1 tsp dried rosemary

– 2 bay leaves

– Fresh parsley for garnishing

Instructions

1. First, prepare your beef by seasoning the cubed chuck roast pieces generously with salt and pepper. Once it’s seasoned well, coat each piece of beef lightly in the almond flour on all sides.

2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the floured beef pieces in batches to ensure they are not overcrowded. Brown all sides of the meat and set them aside on a plate while working on the subsequent steps.

3. Lower the heat to medium and add your chopped onion to the pot. Cook until onions are soft and translucent, which should take approximately 5 minutes. Now add your minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

4. Gradually pour the beef broth into the pot while scraping off any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. This helps incorporate all those flavorful bits into the stew.

5. Add back the browned beef pieces into the pot, along with carrots (optional), celery, green bell pepper, thyme, rosemary, and bay leaves.

6. Reduce heat to low and let the stew simmer for approximately 1.5 – 2 hours until the beef is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.

7. Once your keto beef stew is cooked to perfection, remove bay leaves and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
