Spread the love

Jambalaya, a popular dish stemming from the rich culinary culture of Louisiana, is a true delight that brings together a beautiful medley of flavors. Characterized by its flavorful combination of meat and seafood along with the aromatic trinity of onion, celery, and bell pepper, this dish is often served with rice. But have you ever thought about trying it with pasta?

This article presents the best Jambalaya Pasta recipe for all those who love to experiment with their food and desire to treat their taste buds with an exquisite meal.

Ingredients:

– 8 oz linguine or fettuccine pasta

– 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

– 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

– 8 oz Andouille sausage, sliced

– 1 onion, diced

– 1 green bell pepper, diced

– 1 red bell pepper, diced

– 2 stalks celery, diced

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 (14.5 oz) can crushed tomatoes

– 2 cups chicken broth

– 2 tsp paprika

– 2 tsp Cajun seasoning

– ¼ tsp thyme

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

1. Cook pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat, cook Andouille sausage until slightly browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add a small amount of oil if necessary and cook the chicken pieces until browned on all sides. Set aside with the sausage.

4. Add onions, bell peppers, and celery to the skillet and cook until they’re softened, about 4-5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

5. Mix in crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, paprika, Cajun seasoning, and thyme. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for approximately 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Add cooked chicken and sausage back to the skillet, followed by the shrimp. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the shrimp is opaque and cooked through.

7. Finally, add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together, making sure the pasta is well coated with the sauce.

8. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot, garnishing with chopped fresh parsley for added color and freshness.

This scrumptious Jambalaya Pasta recipe brings together familiar flavors of the classic dish while introducing a delightful twist – pasta instead of rice! The combination of succulent meats, tender shrimp, and perfectly cooked pasta will transport your taste buds straight to Louisiana right from your very own kitchen! It’s an easy-to-follow recipe that promises an excellent outcome each time you try it.
