Introduction

Cherry chocolate chip cookies are a delight for every cookie lover! The combination of sweet cherries and decadent chocolate chips creates an irresistible treat. In this article, we’ll share the best cherry chocolate chip cookies recipe that is not only easy to make but also fills your home with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked goods.

Ingredients

– 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1 cup packed light brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

– 2 large eggs

– 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

– 1 cup dried cherries, chopped

– Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the butter, granulated sugar, light brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.

4. Add in one egg at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.

5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture while continuing to mix on low speed until just combined.

6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped dried cherries using a spatula or wooden spoon. If desired, you can also add chopped nuts for extra crunch here.

7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoons to drop rounded cookie dough balls onto prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.

8. Bake the cookies for 12 to 14 minutes, or until they are golden brown around the edges and slightly soft in the center. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through for even baking.

9. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Enjoy your delicious cherry chocolate chip cookies! Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Conclusion

With this best cherry chocolate chip cookies recipe, you’ll never have to settle for store-bought cookies again. The delightful blend of cherries and chocolate chips will keep you coming back for more. These cookies make a great dessert or can even be shared as a gift for friends and family during special occasions. So, get ready to enjoy these scrumptious treats today!
