Asus has a proven track record of producing some of the best laptops on the market, and their latest offering, the VivoBook S14 (S433), is a prime example. With its combination of style, performance, and portability, this laptop is an excellent choice for users on the go who demand top-notch functionality at an affordable price point. In this review, we will delve into the features, specs, and overall performance of the Asus VivoBook S14 (S433) to help you make an informed decision when considering your next laptop purchase.

Design and Build Quality

The first thing you’ll notice about the Asus VivoBook S14 (S433) is its sleek and stylish design. With a choice of bold color options like Gaia Green, Resolute Red, and Indie Black, you can easily personalize this laptop to reflect your personality. The compact metal chassis weighs just 1.4 kg and measures 15.9 mm thick – perfect for sliding into your bag when you’re on the move.

The ErgoLift hinge is a standout feature that elevates the keyboard at a 3.5-degree angle for a comfortable typing experience. Additionally, the backlit keyboard has well-spaced keys that are quiet and responsive.

Display

The Asus VivoBook S14 (S433) comes with a 14-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display with narrow 5.7 mm bezels, providing an impressive 85% screen-to-body ratio for more immersive viewing experiences. The display offers vibrant colors and sharp images; however, it falls short in terms of brightness when used in direct sunlight.

Performance

Under the hood, the Asus VivoBook S14 (S433) packs an Intel Core i7 processor that can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB PCIe SSD, ensuring lightning-fast performance. With the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics, the S14 handles everyday tasks with ease, and can even provide modest performance for casual gaming.

The S14 features a robust cooling system, which keeps temperatures in check during heavy usage, ensuring that both the laptop and the user remain cool and comfortable.

Battery Life

Asus claims that the VivoBook S14 (S433) can deliver up to 12 hours of battery life on a full charge with its 50 Wh battery. In real-world usage, you can expect around 8-10 hours of usage with mixed tasks like web browsing, video streaming, and typing. Although not exceptional by any means, it is more than adequate for most users’ needs.

Connectivity

In terms of connectivity options, the VivoBook S14 (S433) includes one USB 3.2 Type-C port, three USB Type-A ports (two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.2), an HDMI port, a microSD card reader, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. Alongside these physical ports, the S14 also offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 support for seamless wireless connectivity.

Verdict

The Asus VivoBook S14 (S433) is a stylish and portable laptop that delivers solid performance for its price range. It boasts an attractive design and build quality while offering ample connectivity options for versatile use. Although the display brightness may be lacking in certain situations, it remains an excellent choice for those seeking a reliable workhorse for everyday use – be it students or working professionals alike.
