Qantas has confirmed the incident, stating that the aircraft experienced a “technical issue” and that the safety of passengers and crew is always their top priority. The airline is currently investigating the cause of the engine problem.

“We can confirm that Qantas Flight [Flight Number] experienced a technical issue shortly after departure from Sydney Airport,” a Qantas spokesperson said. “The aircraft returned to Sydney for a safe landing. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to our passengers.”
