The iPad Dock is a useful feature that allows you to quickly access your favorite apps and multitask on your iPad. With the release of iOS 12 and up, the iPad Dock has become even more powerful and customizable.

Here are some tips on how to use the iPad Dock in iOS 12 and up:

1. Access the Dock

You can access the Dock from anywhere on your iPad by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. If you’re already in an app, you can swipe up and hold to show the Dock. To dismiss the Dock, swipe down on the screen.

2. Add apps to the Dock

To add an app to the Dock, simply drag it from the home screen or the App Library and drop it onto the Dock. You can add up to 15 apps to the Dock. To remove an app from the Dock, tap and hold the app icon, then drag it off the Dock.

3. Customize the Dock

You can customize the Dock by rearranging the apps or removing them. To rearrange an app, tap and hold the app icon, then drag it to the desired position. To remove an app, tap and hold the app icon, then drag it off the Dock. You can also change the size of the Dock by going to Settings > General > Multitasking & Dock > Dock.

4. Use Split View and Slide Over

The Dock makes it easy to multitask with Split View and Slide Over. Simply swipe up from the Dock to open the app you want to use in Split View or Slide Over. You can also drag an app from the Dock onto the screen to use it in Split View.

5. Use the Recent Apps section

The Recent Apps section in the Dock shows the apps you have used recently. You can use this section to quickly switch between apps without having to go back to the home screen. To access the Recent Apps section, swipe to the right on the Dock.

6. Pin favorite conversations in Messages

If you frequently message certain people, you can pin their conversations to the top of the Messages app in the Dock. To do this, swipe left on the conversation in the Messages app and tap “Pin.”

In conclusion, the iPad Dock is a powerful tool that can help you be more productive on your iPad. With iOS 12 and up, the Dock has become even more customizable and versatile. By following the tips above, you can make the most of the Dock and take your iPad experience to the next level.
