As smartphones have become an integral part of our modern lives, we can’t deny that they have also made us more accessible 24/7. However, with that increased access comes the inevitable influx of unwanted text messages from individuals and organizations alike. Fortunately, both Android and iPhone devices have made it possible to block these unwanted text messages. In this article, we will explore step-by-step instructions on how to block text messages on Android or iPhone.

Blocking Text Messages on Android

1. Open the messenger app and locate the number: First, open the Messenger app on your Android device and look for the specific contact you want to block.

2. Tap the “i” icon and select Block: Once you have located the contact, tap on the “i” icon, usually located in the top right corner of the screen. Then, select the “Block” option.

3. Confirm the action: A confirmation message will appear, asking if you want to continue and block this number. Tap “OK” to confirm and complete the process.

Blocking Text Messages on iPhone

1. Open the Settings app and go to Messages: Find the Settings app on your iPhone and scroll down until you see “Messages.” Tap on “Messages” to go to the Messaging settings.

2. Tap on “Blocked Contacts”: Once you are in the Messaging settings, scroll down until you see the “Blocked Contacts” option. Tap on it.

3. Add the number: The next step is to add the number you want to block. To do this, select “Add New” and enter the contact’s phone number.

4. Confirm the action: After you have added the number, select “Done” to confirm the action.

Conclusion

Blocking text messages on Android or iPhone can be a quick and easy process. With just a few simple steps, you can prevent unwanted contacts from sending messages or texts to your device. This feature can be particularly useful in avoiding telemarketers, spam, or even ex-partners. However, it is essential to remember that once you have blocked a number, you will not receive any further communications from them. So, make sure you are blocking the right number to avoid any unwanted consequences.
