Nest Aware vs. Nest Aware Plus: Which Subscription Do I Need?

When it comes to home security, one of the most popular choices is the Nest Cam series. Nest Cams are not only reliable thanks to their high-quality cameras and microphones, but they also come with excellent additional features such as live video streaming and two-way audio. However, choosing the right subscription for your Nest Cam can be a bit confusing.

Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus are two of the paid subscriptions offered by Nest. In this article, we will compare Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus and help you determine which subscription is best for your needs.

What is Nest Aware?

Nest Aware is a subscription service that enhances the capabilities of your Nest Cam. With Nest Aware, you get access to a range of smart features such as advanced motion detection, intelligent alerts, and video history. These features help you keep an eye on your home at all times.

One of the main features of Nest Aware is video history, which allows you to view recorded footage from the past 30 days. Additionally, the service lets you create activity zones to focus on specific areas, as well as receive alerts when your camera detects a person or a sound.

What is Nest Aware Plus?

Nest Aware Plus is an upgraded version of Nest Aware, offering even more features than the standard subscription. With Nest Aware Plus, you get everything that Nest Aware offers, in addition to 24/7 continuous video recording, which is particularly useful when you need to capture all activity over long periods of time.

With Nest Aware Plus, you can archive video footage for up to 60 days, and it also comes with an emergency call service that alerts and speaks to emergency services on your behalf in case you are not able to reach your phone.

Which subscription do I need?

Both Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus offer excellent features to enhance your home security, but the choice ultimately depends on your personal needs and budget.

If you do not need continuous video recording and can only afford to pay for the basic subscription, Nest Aware is a great option. However, if you want to archive video footage for longer periods or need 24/7 continuous video recording, then Nest Aware Plus might be more suitable.

As Nest Cams are only as good as the subscription service you choose, it is important that you carefully review the features of both subscriptions before making a decision. You can also try either version of Nest Aware for free for up to 30 days, which is always an option.
