Facebook has become one of the most popular social media platforms, connecting people from all over the world. However, the “People You May Know” feature can sometimes be more of a nuisance than convenience. It suggests profiles of people whom you may or may not know based on mutual friends, location, and other factors. In some cases, you may prefer to disable this feature. In this article, we will explore how to disable the “People You May Know” feature on Facebook.

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account

The first step is to log in to your Facebook account, using your email address or phone number and password. This will take you to your Facebook newsfeed.

Step 2: Click on the drop-down menu

In the top-right corner of your Facebook account, you will see a drop-down menu. Click on it, and you will see a list of options.

Step 3: Select “Settings & Privacy”

From the list of options, select “Settings & Privacy.” This will show you a list of settings for your Facebook account.

Step 4: Choose “Privacy Shortcuts”

Scroll down until you see “Privacy Shortcuts.” Click on this option, and it will show you a list of privacy settings.

Step 5: Click on “Who can see my friends list?”

In the “Privacy Shortcuts” menu, click on “Who can see my friends list?”. This will take you to another menu.

Step 6: Choose “Edit”

On this next menu, you will see an option titled “People You May Know.” Click on “Edit” located to the right of it.

Step 7: Choose “No”

A prompt will appear asking if you want to allow Facebook to suggest data to others based on your profile. Choose “No” to disable the “People You May Know” feature.

Step 8: Save Changes

Once you have chosen the “No” option, click on the “Save Changes” button. This will let Facebook know that you want to disable the “People You May Know” feature.

Conclusion

Disabling the “People You May Know” feature can be a great way to protect your privacy and prevent Facebook from suggesting people you don’t know. Although this feature can be useful at times, it can become overwhelming and annoying. Follow these simple steps to disable the “People You May Know” feature on Facebook and take control of your social media privacy. Note that once you have disabled this feature, it cannot be undone, so be sure that it’s what you want before making the change.
