How to Use Battery Saver Mode on Android

Battery life is a crucial aspect of modern day smartphones. Although smartphone manufacturers are constantly improving the battery technologies, regular use of the device still tends to drain the battery sooner than you would like it to. Fortunately, Android devices have an inbuilt battery saver mode that can help you save on battery life. Here’s a step by step guide on how to use the battery saver mode on your Android phone.

1. Access the Battery Saver Mode

The battery saver mode can either be turned on automatically or manually. If you have an Android device running on Android 5.0 Lollipop or later versions, the battery saver mode can be automatically enabled when the battery level drops below a certain percentage. However, if you want to manually activate battery saver mode, simply go to Settings > Battery > Battery Saver.

2. Determine When the Battery Saver Mode Activates

Once you are in the Battery Saver settings, you can choose when to turn on the battery saver mode. The default setting is usually at 15%, but you can adjust this percentage to a higher or lower level depending on your preference.

3. Understand What Happens While in Battery Saver Mode

The battery saver mode works by reducing your device’s performance and background activities. Anything that consumes your battery such as vibrations, location services, and notifications are turned off. Also, your device’s display brightness is turned down, and the screen timeout is shortened. Therefore, while on battery saver mode, you may experience slower device performance and receive fewer notifications.

4. Customize Battery Saver Mode

You can customize battery saver mode by selecting the different actions you would like the device to take while in battery saver mode. You can select to keep the screen off when the device is not in use, or lower the screen brightness even further. You can also select to allow some apps to remain active while the device is on battery saver mode.

5. Turn Off Battery Saver Mode

If you want to turn off the battery saver mode, simply go to the Battery Saver settings and switch it off.

By using the battery saver mode, you can prolong your device’s battery life and get the most out of it. Therefore, if you haven’t been using the battery saver mode on your Android device, it’s time to give it a try.
