Google Maps is one of the most powerful mapping tools available today. With Google Maps, you can find directions, explore local businesses, and even find the elevation of any location on the planet. Finding elevation is a useful tool when planning outdoor activities, such as hiking and cycling, or when exploring new areas. In this article, we will guide you through the process of finding elevation on Google Maps.

Step 1: Open Google Maps

First, open Google Maps on your device. You can do this by visiting the Google Maps website or by using the Google Maps app. If you are using the app, make sure that you have the latest version installed.

Step 2: Search for the location

Next, search for the location whose elevation you want to find. This can be done by typing the name of the location into the search box or by clicking on the location on the map.

Step 3: Zoom in

Zoom in on the map until the location is clearly visible.

Step 4: Click on the location

Click on the location on the map. This will bring up a small information box.

Step 5: Select “Elevation”

In the information box, select “Elevation”. This will show you the elevation of the location in meters or feet, depending on your settings.

Step 6: Get precise elevation

If you want to get more precise elevation data, you can right-click on the location on the map and select “Measure Distance”. Then, click on two points to create a line between them. The elevation data for each point will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.

Conclusion

The process of finding elevation on Google Maps is very easy and simple. It can be a useful tool when planning outdoor activities or when exploring new areas. By following the steps outlined above, you can easily find the elevation of any location on the planet.
