Adobe Flash is a software platform that brings life to animations, videos, and interactive content on the internet. However, the platform has had numerous security vulnerabilities over the years, and Google Chrome made a decision to remove Adobe Flash player from Chrome’s new versions.

While Google has discontinued support for Adobe Flash, disabling this feature altogether might break specific services or websites that still depend on it. In this article, we will guide you on how to enable Adobe Flash in Google Chrome 76+.

Step 1: Go to the Chrome Browser

Launch your Google Chrome browser and click on the three-dots icon, which is usually located at the top of your browser window. This action will open a drop-down menu with several options.

Step 2: Select Settings

Click on the option labeled ‘Settings’ from the drop-down menu. The settings window contains advanced configuration features for your browser.

Step 3: Expand Advanced Options

To access the advanced settings of your browser, click on the ‘Advanced’ option located at the bottom of your Google Chrome settings page.

Step 4: Customize Content Settings

Scroll down until you find the section labeled ‘Privacy and Security.’ Click on ‘Content Settings’ to access a page filled with various configuration options.

Step 5: Enable Flash

Under ‘Content Settings,’ click on the option called ‘Flash.’ Afterwards, toggle ‘Allow sites to run Flash’ on.

Step 6: Enable Auto-Play

If you want to have Adobe Flash enabled by default on all websites you visit, turn on the toggle switch beneath ‘Block sites from running Flash (recommended).’ Turning off the default blocking option will prompt Google Chrome to request permission every time you launch a Flash application.

Step 7: Manage Exceptions

If you’d like to add an exception to prevent certain sites from being blocked automatically, click on the ‘Add’ button under the ‘Allow’ section. Enter the URL of the website, and click on the ‘Add’ button again.

Conclusion

Once you have completed the steps above, Adobe Flash will be enabled in Google Chrome 76+. Remember, Adobe Flash is old technology that is slowly being phased out due to numerous vulnerabilities. It is important to keep your browser and Flash player updated to ensure that your computer stays safe, and your browsing experience secure.
