How to Zoom in on Instagram: 9 Steps

Step 1: Open Instagram App

Begin by opening the Instagram app on your smartphone. If you haven’t already installed it, head to your respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) and download it.

Step 2: Log in or Sign Up

If you don’t have an Instagram account, sign up for one by clicking on the ‘Sign Up’ tab and follow the registration process. If you already have an account, enter your username and password to log in.

Step 3: Access Your Feed

Once logged in, you’ll be directed to your main feed. This is where photos and videos posted by accounts you follow are displayed.

Step 4: Find a Photo or Video

Scroll through your feed until you find a photo or video that you’d like to zoom in on. You can also search for a specific user or hashtag by clicking the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen and entering the desired username or hashtag in the search bar.

Step 5: Pinch-to-Zoom Gesture

Place two fingers (usually the thumb and index finger) on the screen, centered over the photo or video that you’d like to zoom in on.

Step 6: Zoom In

Slowly spread your fingers apart while keeping them planted on the screen. The image will zoom in as your fingers move further apart.

Step 7: Navigate the Image

While still keeping your fingers on the screen, you can move them around to navigate different parts of the enlarged image.

Step 8: Zoom Out

To return the image to its normal size, simply perform the pinch-to-zoom gesture in reverse. Pinch your fingers together until they meet at a central point above the photo or video.

Step 9: Close-Up View Complete

Now that you’ve successfully zoomed in and out of an Instagram post, you can use this skill to explore content more closely. As you become more comfortable with this gesture, you’ll find it easier to navigate and enjoy Instagram in greater detail.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
