3 Ways to Do Eyeshadow on Asian Eyes

Introduction:

Asian eyes have unique features that make them stand out. When it comes to applying eyeshadow, it’s essential to work with these features to enhance and accentuate their natural beauty. Here are three ways to do eyeshadow on Asian eyes that will complement their distinctive shape and add depth and dimension.

1. Monolid Makeup Technique:

Monolids are a common characteristic of Asian eyes, where the fold of the eyelid is barely visible or absent. To create depth and dimension for monolid eyes, use the following technique:

– Apply a light base color: Brush a light, neutral eyeshadow shade from the lash line up towards the brow bone.

– Add a medium shade: Use a medium-colored eyeshadow for your crease area. Instead of working in the natural crease that you may not have, pretend you have one by drawing an arc from the inner corner of your eye to the outer corner.

– Define with a darker shade: Apply a darker shade like dark brown or black for more definition on the outer corners of your eye.

2. Hooded Eye Makeup Technique:

Asian eyes are sometimes described as hooded because some people might have excess skin that droops over the crease area.

– Begin with a light base color: Sweep a nude eyeshadow all over the eyelid up to the brow bone.

– Sculpt the crease: Choose a medium shade of matte eyeshadow, lift your eyebrows, and apply it above your actual crease line by tilting your brush upwards.

– Add depth with darker shades: Apply a dark eyeshadow color on the outer corner of your eye and blend it inwards towards the center.

3. Halo Eye Makeup Technique:

The Halo technique is a favorite among makeup artists as it gives an illusion of bigger, brighter eyes. This technique works exceptionally well for Asian eyes.

– Prime your lids: Apply an eyeshadow primer or light base color to ensure the eyeshadow lasts longer and is more vibrant.

– Create the halo effect: Take two darker shades of eyeshadow, one medium and one very dark. Apply the medium shade to the outer and inner corners of your eyelid, leaving a small gap in the center. Blend it towards your crease.

– Highlight the center: Apply a shimmery light eyeshadow color to the center of your lid where you left a gap in the previous step. Blend it outwards until it seamlessly merges with the darker shades.

Conclusion:

Trying these three eyeshadow techniques on Asian eyes can enhance their natural beauty and create stunning eye makeup looks. Remember, practice makes perfect, so don’t be afraid to experiment until you find what works best for your unique eye shape!
